Yeah from 102 I think you get a CAPTCHA text and have 40 seconds to type it.

that doesn't mean that bots are excluded, someone can always watch as the bot types and intervene when necessary

You can guess which is bot and which isn't as the worlds record is somewhere near 162..

btw i was reading the wpm definition in wikipedia and it said that the average word is considered to be 5 letters so the word rhinocerus counts as two words. thus the wpm defined by typeracer is not very accurate

True, but they make you hit 80% of your top speed while typing what's in the captcha, so you have to be a pretty speedy typist to pass the test!

I remember reading a few months ago in their blog that they changed their wordcount to fit the wikipedia definition. So it should be correct now.

Wow that game is really addicting. I think that I just went through about 80 games or so. My personal best is 92. Haha, I thought I typed fast, but obviously I'm no where near any good. (I can't imagine seeing someone typing at 160 wpm honestly...
