Fraps

Post by Mel »

A "lightning fast" video capture application ()

http://www.fraps.com/

This tool is quite useful when we want to capture videos to show stuff that can't be captured just with a single screenshot. Also, it is handy, perhaps, for video tutorials, because it captures content really fast. The only, major, drawback is that it stores the content without compression, and can easily fill gigs over gigs of hard drive, but, it is useful when you want to capture real time screens like Irrlicht does, so, if you are in the need of a nice simple, and fast, capture program, this is the fastest i've seen.

Whenever i've used it it's really not been up to the job.. at least not lately anyway.... I think it used to be better (same version of fraps though). By this i mean it's just not captured fast enough, it's just killed the framerate so everything's really jerky :(

i donno whether you remember or not, i had done a successful integration of revel into irrlicht(now waiting for some bugfixes from the revel dev) some times it can give an inner door for bringing out the video...highly compressed xvid......
