Project Ninja Star - help wanted - ported to windows on 26th
ok i guess i do blood myself, like everything
My mates at school laugh that it's going to better than other games because you wont have to wait for hours, for the credits to finish to get to the special mission.
Very short,
whole game - Matthew Kielan
menu design - robert stuart
networking - Darell Eastman
Anyway i got split screen and water sorted and getting onto reinventing the wheel with depth of field and other stuff, but i need to solve saving and loading screen resolution from a savefile.

Ok so i guess i should be getting on with creating the graphics options for lw end computers as soon as my soo called artist makes my tabs and menu layout for me.
We have quite a cool idea, of having 4 ninja stars as "Tabs" and have them roll out and in as you choose them.
I think right now it would be good to implement my own camera scene node (i think i'm gonna do that when i make menu because i cant get my head around making my own camera scene node without the option to remap the buttons).
I will have to implement DoF into splitscreen (easy job) and try to watch my RAM usage.
I have a cool sky project for generating "skydomes" on the fly with animated clouds that would be lighted by shaders.

Hmm... If i remember well You Are Amongst The ones that were abusing me 1 month ago.
Well see the very young and n00by do not know about the hassle it takes to make stuff, that there are barriers almost impossible to overcome, that they are heading for impossible THAT IS WHAT KEEPS THEM UNLIMITED.
One more word I hate people who say you cannot skip the system, you cannot go into the world and just get on with making a game without being the college where they treat you like a n00b and teach you basics you already know.
I hate close minded people like you who, just because thousands like me have failed before, writes me down for failure. People that say how you are going to end up, when they havent seen you do anything yet.
Just last thing, I started Project Ninja Star 3 weeks after reading THE INTRO to the C++ tutorial, I didn't even finish the section about inheritance before I started coding the sound engine.
Just like my art teacher which I have prooved wrong, I got her so amazed that I am cheating the system right now and getting a GCSE 2 years earlier than supposed to with a predicted A*.
I have a long list of people who said I am going to fail (my father, speaking about the amount of time that I spend on learning and doing HW, my grandparents, my teachers, my mates but in rather personal matters) and I think you are going to join that list along with tens of people on gamedev.net
yeah i kinda used a texture that does not tessellate very well (repeat) so you get borders, but i have a better one that tessellates well but its very bumpy (and i needed to show off the reflections).
that was a long time ago now im working on getting my GUI up and developing for low end PCs.
P.S. SSAO, bloom and realistic sky coming so stay tuned
sorry, but you sound to me like someone, who wants to code a second crisis but has just learned how to setup a "Hello World" program (witouht irrlicht, of course).
see, this is what i mean. learn a bit of C++ and game programming first, write a little pong-like game and on some point you will realize, how complex it is to create a game that is "born from your mind".
what you want to do is let someone code the game for you and earn the credits for it. sorry but this is not how it works.
sorry for my honesty i don't mean to hurt you, i'm just trying to take away the big tomatoes on your eyes.
damn, i really forgot blake. heard a lot about him, wasn't he the guy who re-coded crysis in assembler?
FOURTEEN ACTUALLY LOL!he's 15 years old. i've been at that age, having the same sick dreams in almost the same dimensions.
i do believe he is ^^
HMM that was probably the biggest offence of all.(what i mean is this "CS-Kiddie-that-wants-to-learn-writing-games-without-bothering-themselfes"-style that your "announcement" has, it makes people rather laugh than take it serious.)

I made a rather useless feature (which i spent 2 days coding) its basically a spinning ninja star which spins out of the left hand corner if hovered over, to the middle of the screen. It has 5 options General, Graphics, Sound, Online & Return, it's to be used instead of tabs in the menu. It waits 2,5 seconds and it retracts back to the corner if the mouse is not over it anymore.
P.S. Darell has been away for 3 weeks and I was getting really pissed off because he didnt respond, but HE HAS DONE S**TLOADS of work!!! On server lobby and menus and stuff, seems that online is coming to PNS quite fast!

Simply put, your not making friends right now devsh. Ease off a bit on the defense systems. I'm going to give you straight up advice, seeing as I was in your exact same position ~1.4 years ago.
To quote Denish Waitley, "You must learn from your past mistakes, but not lean on your past successes." Right now, your ticking people off left and right across the internet, in the game development community. Not to mention your basically pissing your portfolio down people's throat with nothing to show for it.
Your goal shouldn't be proving people wrong with your words. Let your actions speak for yourself. The only way to get ahead is to actually do something.
Now let me lay out all my constructive criticisms right now: use the best grammer and language you possibly can, make programs not hasty words, eliminate "n00b" from your everyday language, and change your goal from proving people wrong and instead work for yourself.
