March 2009 screenshot of the month submissions thread

Post by bitplane »

Update April 1st 2009:
No more posts please, submit them here instead.
Vote here for March!

Now that we have galleries up on SourceForge, we've decided to start the screenshot of the month contest up again.

So submit your entries here, and at the end of the month we'll let everyone vote on the best one. The winner gets added to the screenshot of the month gallery and (if you want) a link to your project on the screenshots page.

Submission rules:

* You give permission for us to use the image on Irrlicht's website, irrlicht3d.org and SourceForge for publicity reasons.

* Irrlicht only projects please, no screen captures from modeling programs or editors unless they use Irrlicht (ie, irrEdit) or your project is an editor tool (ie irrb)

* You can submit a maximum of 3 screenshots a month, but some may be excluded from the vote if we reach the maximum number of poll options. So please only post your best ones!

* Please make sure your images don't 404 before the voting is over. Use a one-click file host like imageshack, tinypic, or if you have a SourceForge account you can enable the user galleries application in your profile.

As large as possible please! "you can't cut it long" as barbers say.

Also, we're going to reduce the maximum number of images to 3 per person per month, so we don't spend all week uploading them to an entrants gallery on sourceforge. So you can remove/replace this one if you want.

When I saw strong99's earth I just had to post mine ;)
http://freetimestudio.fr.ohost.de/irrearth/

It got moving clouds, day/night, specularmap for the water, an atmospheric shader and a sun.

greetings

I must say that looks more impressive. Really good job there.
We're programmers. Programmers are, in their hearts, architects, and the first thing they want to do when they get to a site is to bulldoze the place flat and build something grand. We're not excited by renovation:tinkering, improving, planting flower beds.

Thanks,

I'm having a few issues with the "textureprovider": http://www.oera.net/How2/TextureMaps2.htm

I hope to release the final binary soon.

greetings

[sorry for OT]

Not really a worthy candidate for screenshot of the month, and the mesh is obviously not my work.
Image
The picture shows a high resolution PLY file from a Cyberware head scanner. There is no texture map, it's all done with vertex colours from the raw scan data (though the loader supports UV maps)

Edit: This is the console device with its own font running Burning's Video driver underneath
Image
To enable it in 1.6/SVN, just uncomment the _IRR_USE_CONSOLE_DEVICE_ line in IrrCompileConfig.h

Water shader looks really cool, would be nicer without the sharp edges though. I'd like to see it in motion :)

Don't know if it really counts but heres an old shot from my raytrace driver:

* Removed due to 3 image limitation *

I'll try and get some better shots in soon.

PS: Mirror that looks sweet as always, did you forget to enable clipplanes though?

@bitplane: that ASCII renderer is great ... I thought maybe I could do one, but if it's already there ... I like that kind of things ;)
