Irrlicht Models license question.....

Post by Systemerror »

Quick question:

Irrlicht:

Are all the models and other media (ie; dward and textures) freely available to use commercially? were they developed by someone on Irrlicht?

IrrEdit:

Same think really, but there is more stuff on there like house, terrains, other models etc.

I don't want to break any licensing laws when I bring out Deep Sleep (eventually).

the models in the media folder of irrlicht were sourced from the internet and are free to use for personal use, i believe, but not necessarily for commercial, you'll have to contact the creators, which some are listed in the media folder.

irrklang is not free for commercial use, you'll have to buy a licence for that and as for the models included with irrklang i'm sure the same goes for them as with the irrlicht models.

Yeah I knew that about IrrKlang, I meant IrrEdit.

Yes! well I found the dwarf is free for commercial use :) see below quote from dwarf read me:
RESTRICTIONS:

This model pack is available for use in freeware, shareware, commercial games/software with the following restrictions:-

**You may not sell/re-sell this model pack or claim it as your own.
***You may not redistribute this pack in some other model pack through a website or on a compilation CD of any kind, without my written consent.

On that note I must point out http://www.psionic3d.co.uk/ which has some great [free/commercial] graphics/audio resources! some seriously amazing stuff.
