Why Can't I Load *.3ds with Texture? Help me?
3ds is quite a capricious format. You load it in several modeling packages and you'll get different results in each. There's also notice that 3dsmax exported 3ds files are sometimes incompatible (too new) and need to be resaved to a more standard 3ds format.
I'd suggest opening your 3ds model in a package like Unwrap3d to check it's ok and its uv texturing properties show up properly; then resave it as a 3ds overwriting your existing file and try loading this 3ds file into Irrlicht.
A similar process has to be done with .X models, in which you must load them into Mview, check they are ok and resave them.
Another good lowpoly modeler that imports 3ds files properly is AC3d.
give it a try. It's all a matter of trial and error.
cheers!
