Ps3 vs 360 exclusives
So I always hear that the ps3 has pretty much no good exclusives and the 360 has all the good games.
I like Halo 3 and Gears of war 2 but those are the only good exclusives I know of.
I ask my friends that have 360s for some other good 360 games and they usually give me games that I can get on my ps3.
PS3's got resistance series, ratchet and clank series, uncharted series, MGS4, etc.
I am looking for some unbiased opinions.
Is it worth it to get a 360?

360 is nearly half the price too, something to consider.

And you can easily develop games on a xbox using the XNA c# framework, don't know if PS3 has something similiar

360 may be half the price off the shelf but the PS3 has a lot more to offer I reckon... Blu-ray player and DVD upscaling for one. Free network access for another... If you want to buy a gold LIVE membership on X360 that's a whole load of extra cash each year over the life of your X360 usage whereas the PS3 has nothing extra to pay... I'm sure there's more good points for the PS3 but I'm so tired right now I can't remember! Incidentally not working for Sony anymore so not just saying this due to my job!
Having said that the X360 does have good points too I'm sure!
But certainly the resistance and uncharted series are great... don't forget god of war as well!

To be totally accurate, it's only $100 less on both the 60GB and 120GB
At any rate the $100 price difference is mainly due to the Blu-ray player. And don't forget, the PS3 also has the Killzone 2 which is pretty killer, no pun intended.
If you're looking to the future, then go with the PS3. Developers are continuing to look towards the PS3 rather than shy away these days. Given the amount of potential that the PS3 holds over the 360, it's no doubt that the $100 price difference is well worth it.

The PS3 supports a free downloadable Linux which in turn allows you to develop for the PPE and SPEs with a full GCC toolchain. You have access to the whole CELL processor, the only thing you do not have access to is the RSX (graphics card). It's not much of a loss, to be honest. And if I recall correctly, I remember seeing a port of OpenGL that was built specifically for homebrew development. If that's not enough, then there is always the illegal option. The Anaconda wrote:no, it doesnt.strong99 wrote:And you can easily develop games on a xbox using the XNA c# framework, don't know if PS3 has something similiar

Not sure about that, microsoft says the same over the xbox.halifax wrote:If you're looking to the future, then go with the PS3. Well as i can remember I had to register several times for several games on the PS3. X360 has one system and the fun is that the account is the same for every microsoft service. But it realy cost much money, so if you want to play online but not that much the X360 is expansive I think.JP wrote:If you want to buy a gold LIVE membership on X360 that's a whole load of extra cash each year over the life of your X360 usage whereas the PS3 has nothing extra to pay

Ok so here is my opinion. (I don't have one of these. My brother has a PS3 and a Wii but that doesn't count).
If I had to decide I would take the XBox 360. Why? The price. I don't need a BluRay-Player.
Imho the question is not XBox360 or PS3 but BluRay or DVD.
If you don't have any BluRays or if you don't have a TV that is big enough to notice a difference between DVD and BluRay (say less than 20 inch) you don't need a PS3.
Because if you don't use the BluRay feature you just have a very expensive gaming console. (The price for a PS3 is fair. A gaming console AND a BluRay player)

Software documentation is like sex. If it's good you want more. If it's bad it's better than nothing.
the most important thing is the games. i like those xbox360 games better than those on ps3. but i don't have both of the consoles.

I recall having to sign up to some ubisoft crap when playing Prince of Persia, but that was Ubisoft's fault, not Sony's!Josh1billion wrote:I think you're mistaken. The price is what turned me away from the 360.
I would definitely want to play online and that alone would cost $100 just for me after 2 years (consoles better last at least 5 and that's $250+ extra)
Also a LAN cable isn't an option for me (console in the exact opposite position in my house from modem). So atleast $80 for wireless. Then I would want a hard drive....
And after all that I still can't use it to watch You tube and Hulu moveis and no blu ray.
I guess it depends on what you use it for but the 360 would cost me more
And once again I get people saying the 360 has better games but isn't giving me any examples. (And forgot about God Of War III for ps3)
(Anyone know if warhawk is any good?)
I however and definitely thinking about getting a 360 just to develop on.

Hi, on the 360 there is Mass Effect which is very gd, the second one comin l8er this year.
Crackdown which is also very gd and fun to play and second one comin "l8" next year.
Im not 100% sure bout this but i think the xbox marketplace will get the new gta expansion before playstation network.
Again im not 100% sure bout this but the new splinter cell game is either comin on 360 only or comin out on 360 before PS3.
I know u already know bout Halo but there is an expasion comin l8er this year called Halo:ODST and in the comin years a new game called Halo:Reach.
360 also has the great left for dead, the second one comin l8er this year.
Thats all i can think of at the moment, hope it helps.
