Insane Solutions Presents Insane Editor For Irrlicht

Post by smartwhiz »

This is very basic layout thats been designed for Insane Editor and its the first integration test with wxWidgets and Irrlicht. And I am glad its successful and a viewport is running the First Irrlicht Tutorial. The Integration was done from the scratch.

The development is at very early stage so a release to the forums wouldn't be soon till 2 months from now. But each feature implementation would be discussed and disclosed on this thread :). Do let me know your all views/opinions/suggestions/criticisms on the early looks of the editor.

PS: I know that a lot of really good attempts of a good editor for Irrlicht has already been seen by you guys, hope this attempt wouldn't be vain as we are really trying to get it going :). The attempt is to make commercial editor with quality that's provided with the tools of other commercial engines. We would be using this tool for our internal projects and so we would have docs for it's usage :).

That's it for now, more to come in the coming days, watch out.
Thanks and With Regards

Hey, sounds interesting.
Would you please be so kind to set up a minimal wxWidget application so we can include this in the next SDK? This also helps to fix some issues with the input scheme and external window handling we still have from time to time. Thanks in advance.

@ Hybrid : Sure, I am still working on the Input system and will let you know once I have a minimal system for wxWidget with Irrlicht ready. When are you planning for next Irrlicht Release?

Any news on this project?

I'm very interested in a better scene/world editor for irrlicht. I may well write one, but if someone else comes up with a good one first it would save me a lot of effort.

Thanks,

Steve

Hello, well the development is still on and its on a phase that we don't want to disclose much untill I can give you guys a running copy of it.

We are working out on a new layout something very similar to 3ds Max so that my artists can use them as they want, here's a screenshot of the editor when we had the new layout(this was 2 months back), it has gone a long now, but the layout we follow is the same.

PS : Sorry to say we are trying to complete a project with this editor, so more updates would be coming by only March as we are on a strict timeline and deadline.
Thanks and With Regards
