Project Ostium (old)

Post by Virion »

Project Ostium is a FACE PACE ACTION ADVENTURE RPG SHOOTER  *ahem* it's actually an open source game that is using irrlicht of course.

Development blog: http://blog.reonyx.com
Forum: http://www.reonyx.com/forum

Storyline:
The story is about aliens who left their dying planet and they found earth. They observed it for a while and decided to turn it into their new home, and hope to make it to look exactly like their old planet.

Aliens opened up a huge portal in the sky and dropped HUGE spore bombs, which result in Earth ecosystem overrun by a new kind of environment. The spore bombings evelope Earth in a gaseous fog and resulting in it quickly becomming a parasitic forest.

Besides dropping some of the creatures from their old planet, some of the humans also become mutated, due to the gas that they inhaled, making the whole Earth a dangerous place.

Terry a nerdy teenager's arm is parasited by a small creature, which gave him some super natural power, and lead him through all the difficulties and save the whole world, turning it back to what it was.

Wow the pictures of your editor are looking great! Even if it's just for object placement the lights are still pretty cool. That leads me to the question: Can those terrains be edited directly in that editor? *That* would be extremely cool :) (and useful)

Nice virion. perhaps an outline on the important details will make the drawings pop more (such as using the pen/vector tool to make outlines)
. really cool stuff

Nice art Virion, both 3D and 2D (actually I like them bit blurry as they are). Good luck :)

Wow that Earth Goblin really has some character. I'd love to see how he'd behave and talk in the actual game. I have a feeling he's going to be a bit like Conker from Conker's bad fur day.

Update on the level editor:

Image

when a camera is selected, a small preview window will appear at the top left corner to show you what the camera is current looking at just like you're actually holding the camera! :D
