Many beginning game developers don't know what hardware to target, as it varies wildly. But the makers of Steam have created a
Hardware Survey to show some of the most common, and least common types of hardware. This can come in very handy when you don't how powerful most consumers' computers are.

I really wish they let you access archives of the surveys tho, so you can see trends over time

You can click on the things on the bottom for more detail and it will tell you the percent change from last month.

yah you can do that but every tiem I go to the survey I find myself wishing I could see the results from more than just the one previous month
