blender help
So I know some of us here use blender and so I figured I would ask here to see if anyone else knows. So here is the question, how would I take a collada file from the google warehouse (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/) import it into blender then export it so I can use it in irrlicht. I know there is an issue with the collada import in blender and I wasn't able to find out how to get collada working in irrlicht and I need to do some editing so I figured I would just go through blender and export it into b3d or something like that. Does anyone have pointers or a tutorial on how I can go about this process?

I see 98 people have looked at this so some may be interested in it. In blender 2.5 there is going to be much better collada support (which you can get from google warehouse). The collada importer for 2.49 does not work very well in most cases which causes issues with materials and a bunch of things. http://www.blender.org/development/rele ... ender-250/ is where you can get the latest 2.5 alpha or beta pending when you read this. This ofcourse is only in it's early stages as it is a testing release so not everything will work. Though you can import a collada file already which should retain all it's parts, you can then do some editing or export it again and import somewhere else.

Is where I got most of my info from, in 2.49 the import does get the mesh but materials don't work often if at all from what I have tried. They may not work in 2.5 either but it seemed like a much nicer import, I never found how to render a scene to test if it looked proper.
