I updated Ubuntu and now Blender works with Ubuntu 9.10. The problem is now whenever I turn it off it brings me to some screen where it loads a little bit, and then it waits and never turns off. I'm allowed to type stuff there, but I don't know how to get out of it and make it turn off normal. And also, is it safe for me to access files stored on my XP install from my Linux install?
That would be illogical captain...

You might want to have a look on Ubuntu Forums for a solution to that problem you have with turning the computer off. Also, for some reason the import/export scripts included in the version of Blender in the Ubuntu repositories don't work (at least on my computer) but they do work if I install Blender using the .deb package from the Blender website (which does work on Ubuntu 9.10 even though it says its for 9.04).
