@Virion I've used fake shadows, it's a plane with an transparent texture.

@xray I'll provide windows binaries soon.

Western Mini Golf 3D Sreenshot

Post by rrg »

Here is a screenshot from my game in development called Western Mini Golf 3D. From the picture and name, it's a mini golf game set in an old west theme. Sorry for such a big picture but it shows more detail.

Image Name: Western Putter

info about image (for the curious folks):
Uses HLSL Shaders
-Normal Mapping (bricks, fence, barrles, wagon wheels)
-Bump Mapping (cactus, houses, longhorn skull)
-Specular Mapping (putter:- hard to see though, cause angle isn't facing sun)

Shadows baked in Blender

Well, I am finally posting some info about the project I am working on. First we will start with a few screenshots as that is the point of the competition.

Image

Ok, now that those are up you can find more here http://rofhonline.com/zombie%20screenshots/

Basically this game is starting out as a single player game where you will try to survive a zombie invasion. In the above screenshots there are 25 zombies that attack and move towards the player. The AI will be improved later using navmeshes and A* algorithm. Their is an interface though the health and ammo are very small (will be adjusted later). You start with a pistol and 100 bullets for now and once the inventory is built you will start with more guns and be able to pick things up. I added the procedural trees from the projects forum today and they look quite nice though the branches show through the leaves probably due to the xeffects shaders, I will play around with them later. On that note there is dynamic lighting in the game as you can tell by the shadows in the screenshots this was done using xeffects. The light rotates around the map as the sun does so the shadows move and day turns to night as the game progresses. Hopefully I will get a demo out in the next month or so once we have a house or a few buildings. I am also using irrPhysx for physics and trees can be climbed on later once things get more complete (or if I adjust jump velocity). Thats enough for now I think, once the demo is ready I will make a thread in the projects forum.

Removed the last 2 screen shots.

Actually, you must submit a single screenshot. Nothing stopping you from posting more through your link or in projects announcement, mind you.
