Old 3D Editor?

Found this pic on irrlicht screenshot gallery. And would just like to know what happened to the "Irrlicht Engine 3D Editor"

O_O I see "lightmap compiler"!! what happened to this editor!! it looks pretty complete. whats the date of this editor?

Changed to irredit? Maybe. No idea how old this old though. But I'm guessing its VERY old.

i don't think so. irredit doesn't have AI, NPC, player, portal etc.

What makes you think it was part of the Irrlicht SDK? And those options may be just buttons with random names doing nothing.

Yeah, I'd guess it is just a GUI demo and it eventually grew into the mesh viewer example.

EDIT: If it was an example for Irrlicht, it wasn't in Irrlicht 1.1 (I downloaded it out of curiosity

) judging by the lack of gradients on the menu bar, etc. I'd say it is pre Irrlicht 1.1 anyway.

Yeah, most screenshots from the dev screenshot section are even pre Irrlicht 0.8

Yeah, I just downloaded all of the pre 1.0 SDKs on the SF.net page and none of them had this thing, maybe it was a project of someone's that never got released.

wow, am I the oldest member here in this thread?

I remember the project that screenshot came from, vaguely, I think i even remember downloading it and messing with it. dont remember who was doing it, but it never really got much further than the templates of that shot and didnt really have any functionality

But as for the editor, it reminds me of a beta release of an editor that DarkWhoppy was working on, IrrSED. It's not of the first releases that you can dig up on the forums here, but the second version that he never released outside of his old forum.

I will see if I can still get in touch with him to confirm or deny, but it has been about a year since I have spoken to him last; no promises.
