Why Irrlicht don't have any mascot?
Maybe we should make a little contest? :)

The fairy is kinda Irrlicht's inofficial mascot.

There's even a remake thread for her. Unfortunately, it seems like the project is dead?!

Hmm, fairy remake projects seems be dead :(

I think fairy will be good mascot for Irrlicht. She is cute :D

edit:
so maybe there is any artist who will take task of remaking Fairy?
I think the best idea will be to make contest to remake Fairy.
The best Fairy will be new, official Irrlicht mascot.
What do you think about it? Admins? Irrlichters?

I wanted to use one of the irrlicht Fairy models for my Character Tech Demo, but I ended up going with Miku instead.

jotatsu's fairy model is nice, but it is slightly lacking in its design and I personally dont find it very appealing

Ogre is a large nasty green beast

Its a good idea indeed. The fairy is a bit "/ in my oppinion. I think we should try some robot cartoony like character...
Or maybe some sort of front mission badass robot... ;)

I'm not a big fan of the fairy either, but I don't think a cartoony robot is a better alternative. I think the character should be as realistic and "next gen" as possible so when newcomers see it they see how good irrlicht games can look, instead of all of the programmer art they see now. I actually like the ninja that comes with irrlicht. I think it represents irrlicht good because ninjas are quick and efficient and so is irrlicht. Plus ninjas are badass.

IIRC, most if not all demos from ATI/AMD and NVidia feature fantasy scenarios. Looks like this is the correct domain for even the very latest graphics stuff.

Yes but a fairy? Ogre has it right with their mascot. That ogre looks like it could kick some ass. You don't see a fairy being the mascot of a sports team because the other teams would laugh at the wimpy fairy. We need a mascot that is fierce and looks like it could kick other mascots asses.

we make a macho fairy then.   just kiding (pls don't hit me!)

since irrlicht is about "light" then we should make a contest and allow any entry that has to do with light? maybe a monster with light on its body, or robots that has lots of LED on it, and so on (glowing fairy perhaps?).

How about something like this, opposed to traditional wimpy fantasy fairies:
A technologically advanced lethal cyborg fairy

Nice image, fmx! :D
I made a simple game character for a demo of FunCollision 1.1 (by PI), which never got released. Just uploaded a short video to show him. It`s by far nothing special and unfinished though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykZnO61HUZg
