...can a game be programmed in java with it, and use irrlicht to do all the 3d stuff, compile, and all what irrlicht does?

Beware I am not a programmer, is just info I need as I am researching together with a friend to use java (he's an experienced java coder) without not needing the jre. Is for exe distribution...

And I like irrlicht comunity and possibilities a lot....

Is it in a very alpha stage? Would it need completting it, and if so, that needing to be done in c++ instead of Java ? ...as would leave my friend out...probably.
