Unfortunately no. Irrlicht is not a HIGH LEVEL game engine with sound and network support, only a simple very-low-level graphics engine. SoftPixel has a community too:

I really wanna be the 100th user, but I`m not sure I`ll wait for 5 months and a half to register on time. (sniff) But indeed the screenies look good, gotta admit that.

Also It would be nice to have some sort of video's section, for embedded videos demonstrating projects using irrlicht as I think videos show a lot more than screenshots.
Main page to WordPress, forum to phpBB3, plus other bits. I'll start a new thread about this rather than put such awesome news in this possible troll-thread!

It's hard to tell if you are being sarcrastic. I said it was just like irrlicht with sound and network support. I don't see what's so high level about something you can add to your irrlicht project in a few hours. Also their 74 members are a joke compared to the thousands on irrlicht.

Of course I`m being sarcastic- IrrKlang can be added in less than 15 minutes, the others in less than an hour. Plus what if I don`t like the integrated sound and network? Would be sad to "carry" them all the time.

Thats what doubt me about Irrlicht, even the Irrlicht inspired, new engines seem to pass our beloved Irrlicht in some features (like drivers, shader support, etc).
The development of irrlicht seem to be really slow if compared with other engines. Thats what makes me sad about it...

Irrlicht's strategy is to provide a stable solution on a wide variety of platforms, so applications can be ported over easily from one platform to the other
It's up to you yourself to extend the engine by building these next-gen features with the tools irrlicht provides, or by using community-created content
Driver support is an issue because irrlicht is a fixed function pipeline engine, while D3D10 and D3D11 only work with a programmable pipeline, and it would be a pain to completely support both pipelines completely in the same engine
And what do you mean by lacking shader features? To my knowledge you can throw just about anything shader-based at the engine, as long as you know what you're doing

I think he means "simple to use, out of the box" shader features.

Development may be slow, but the community is thriving.
Wait until irrlicht 2.0 comes along with revised guts, it will pave the way for seriously impressive irrlicht-based demos, games and applications
Definitly its not irrlicht.
What i meant from shader stuff is (some) lack for geometry shaders and some other suff like multi pass, etc.
Not that i dont find Irrlicht a cool thing, but sometimes its better to have some stuff already implemented.
Anyways i'm still keeping irrlicht for a looong time (maybe till i find a performance/usability bottleneck).
Geometry shaders are supported since Irrlicht 1.7
And yes, the website is a shameless rip-off from the Irrlicht website (you see, I said we have a very good website ) but the interface of the engine is far from the Irrlicht way of doing things. It's even less object-oriented than what we do. Good thing for basic coders probably, but maybe not something you'd want to use for longer.
When starting programming it is hard to think in OO style, so I guess if Soft-Pixel is less OO it might be easier to get started with, can't really tell since I haven't looked at its source.
Irrlicht is really fine for me to code, as the hardest thing I think is still the main framework, on which the rendering and other libraries depend.
Some people said that Soft-Pixel will probably be easier to start with but irrlicht is better for a longer usage :
So I think that I will start and make some basic and advanced things with SP
and then when I'm more feamiliar with it I will move to Irrlicht. And the good thing is that irrlicht and SP look a bit the same so it will be easier to switch from SP to Irrlicht but I will just start with SP and learn basic things then I will see how things work out ... so no more planning for now....
BTW: there is still one engine that I would like to check out( it's a 3d engine wich a youtube-friend of mine is making and will put out probably next week but it is in it's first stages and not complete so I don't think I'm going to choose this engine)
