Super Hover Blast (Free game)

Post by Paul J »

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I proudly present, the finished version of:

Image

A free, 3D action/puzzle game, built using Irrlicht, where you must pilot a hovercraft against the regime of an evil kitten-hating madman, clearing out his heavily defended bases one by one in the name of UCAS (The United Coalition of Allied Societies).

The catch? You forgot to bring any guns.

You do have a super-powerful air cannon at your disposal though. It won't do any damage, but perhaps, using that, you can work out a way to destroy the enemy legions by using their own weaponry against them...

- Blast obstacles out of the way!
- Deflect missiles!
- Push the enemy into their own traps!
- Over 20 challenging levels!
- Special modes to unlock!
- A totally realistic simulation of modern warfare! Probably!

More details and a download button can be found here:

Please do try it out and let me know what you think!

pretty cool and polished game. Didn't play through yet but its awesome. But sometimes it is a little hard to kill the enemies. when there is only one damagedealer on the whole map(talking about the one spikeball. that isn't fun actually. but yeah the rest till then was awesome.

runs with wine just fine but the sound chockes sometimes. but probably not a game problem.

wine, wine, wine, It's not so good to depend on wine, it slows down apps a lot and many bugs can occur, its always nicer to have a native app.

This game looks really fun and it has a neat concept. I liked the video you posted. I am going to try it out tonight when I get home from work. Congrats on completing your project!

Downloaded and played it, looks really polished but you should add an option to customise controls (the WSAD-layout doesn't work for us non-qwerty users)

It'd also be nice to have a changeable mouse sensitivity for turning

yeah, great game !!! :)

but for me the setup program doesn't work !!!
it just doesn't start with the common windows error message about wrong config try to install again...
I guess it's written in MSVC++ and you didn't include the runtimes...
and as I neither have them installed iz won't run for me...
while(!asleep) sheep++;

Tried it and enjoyed it a lot, great intro, great concept and polished. Reminded me of serious sam.

You might want to add joystick support, control config for azerty keyboards but the main point would be to boost every entity speed. The game lacks dynamism.

Thanks for the comments, guys!

I've just uploaded version 1.1, which adds support for AZERTY keyboards (whoops) and includes those .dlls I was missing for the setup utility (double whoops).
