Design and Tech Project, Computer Case, NEEDS FEEDBACK

Post by devsh »

Hi all, I've been developing and manufacturing a clear acrylic and aluminium case for my design and technology GCSE. It is aimed at people who like to showcase their LEDs etc, so whereas most people have a normal tower with a window at the side, I have decided to make the case as transparent as possible. The case can be also hung on a wall, as well as stood and laid. It has a handle which is an important structural element (holds the case together and is removed for disassembly, also it is useful for carrying the case around.

I need you to give me some open descriptive feedback as to whether you think it is aesthetically pleasing(as some of you are my target group - pc modders).

I need you to say answer some closed questions also, such as:

1) whether you would buy it for £40 ~ $64
2) do you think it would fit your hardware?
3) would you prefer to have more fan placements?

And here are the pictures

You're the one who's looking for feedback, you should make it convenient for people to view.

Ok, not really competent on the topic, but here`s what I think:

- It`s nice you`re trying to build sth new, different from the "classic pc case look"
- For me the pc case is just a box hiding all the stuff inside and not letting out pets do whatever they want- say "No!" To pet-hardware mods...
- For me the cleaner the case design and the less-attractive look is best- mine was the second cheapest one in the store (abt. 30euro incl. build-in PSU). I liked the cheapest one the most- was all mat black, totally ordinary-looking, but its PSU was only 400w, which was insufficient.
- Your design a bit reminds me of an aquarium, but it still looks interesting.

1) whether you would buy it for £40 ~ $64
- Maybe. The price is affordable, but as I told I prefer non transparent case. Mine`s behind the desk anyway. But it will be much more attractive for modders, I`m sure.
2) do you think it would fit your hardware?
- I`m sure it would- my hardware`s nothing more but ordinary- only a GPU and LAN card occupy the PCI slots(don`t wanna use the build-in lan card- my motherboard is a small asus P5G41)
3) would you prefer to have more fan placements?
- As a whole, unless my pc suffer from overheating, I doubt I`ll put more fans just to increase the power consumption and noise.

No, maybe, no. Do you ever have trouble putting the cd in the drive? I've never tried a vertical cd drive before

I think it looks pretty sweet. I think the fan placement is pretty good too.
