use three Displays on one card?

In my computer is a HD5970 graphic card from sapphire. It has 2x DVI and 1x mini displayport. At the moment I use two screens (one on each DVI). Can I connect a third screen on the displayport or will it not work?

Of course this will work. I have connected 4 displays to my 5770

Did you connect them on different interfaces (DVI, VGA, HDMI) )or all on displayports?

Two on the DVI ports, one on the HDMI port and one on the DisplayPort.

If it has the ports it can use them :p. Mine only had 2 ports on the video card but I found a motherboard laying around with 3 pci-e slots, so I put 3 video cards in it and can use up to 6 displays now
