IIRC the change SF made when they made it that broke makes it pretty hard to get it working againhybrid wrote:Yes, mailing does not seem to work, yet. But it didn't do before, either. At least not reproducible. Every 1 of 10 mails was sent out with the old forum, all the rest just resulted in these strange error messages. I have to check the proper setup of the forum in conjunction with the SF way of sending mails. But I might get this to work in the next days.

Re: New phpBB3 Forum
Ehh, what? Anyway, the only major change to mailing from web-applications on SF servers that I am aware of is the enabling of this service. Only a few month ago, there was absolutely no way to send out mails from web servers hosted at SF. This was changed, though, a few month/weeks ago. However, only a very specific authentication method is supported, and I have to check how I have to set up the forum for it.

Re: New phpBB3 Forum
Hi, I like that you changed to a newer version of PHPBB, However I would like to suggest something that could be done over the standard theme.
Here is a screen mockup I've made quickly in Photoshop:
I like the new logo better than the old one, and I don't like the harsh contrast of the default theme.
If you see in my suggestion, I removed the white background to a gradient and changed the borders color with less saturated colors. (the bright blue, was too saturated to my taste and was distracting me from reading).
The inner boxes are the same as they are not distracting and ok for reading.
For me, this look easier to read...

Christian please suggest an existing theme from http://www.phpbb3styles.net/
Re: New phpBB3 Forum
yah thats what I meant. I remember seeing an email about it but didn't care much because I don't use web applications on my project, and I remember seeing some people complaining about the process somewhere or other.hybrid wrote:Ehh, what? Ok, If you can't modify a theme, I would suggest this one:
AEROBLUE, with the new IRRlicht logo
http://www.phpbb3styles.net/db/style/AeroBlue
SEO with the new IRRlicht logo:
http://www.phpbb3styles.net/db/style/SEO
Perhaps this one (The previous ones are better in my opinion):
XiPhone Skin with the new IRRlicht LOGO
http://www.phpbb3styles.net/db/style/XiPhone

Moreover, use this thread: http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/forum/v ... =2&t=44322Yoran wrote:Christian please suggest an existing theme from http://www.phpbb3styles.net/
and have more than a few dozen supporters for your style
Re: New phpBB3 Forum
Can you make it so that the icon for new posts is on the large left of each forum post?
It makes it easier seeing new posts.

Re: New phpBB3 Forum
For people that complained about the new format you can go to the user control panel -> board preferences and change your board style to subsilver2. This is basically what the old forum looked like. I didn't read every post in this thread to see if someone suggested this already or not but I figured I would say it again
Re: New phpBB3 Forum
Is there any option to enable files or attachments to posts (or topic)?
A lot of topics in the project announcement category have broken links and downloads.
So it might by useful to add such a functionality to prevent that.

Re: New phpBB3 Forum
No, we cannot do this. We'd have to check all those uploads in detail, as we would host the files on our own (as project admins at SF). But you can upload patches at the tracker. And larger projects can be added to irrext.
