I want to programm my own 2d engine with scripting and everything that goes with it.
do you think irrlicht is the right for this?
is it fast enough and what about 2d collision, etc.
Irrlicht for 2d engine
Re: Irrlicht for 2d engine
for 2d, the way to go to have sthg runninng quickly is love2d. (www.love2d.org)
Otherwise I would recommand sfml. It is possible with Irrlicht but might require more work.

It is a good idea to check out SFML and/or SDL.
I hear in SFML you can rotate images a bit easier than in SDL.

Biggest difference between SDL and SFML I see is that SFML is written object-oriented in C++ and SDL in C. I would also recommend SFML for 2D graphics.
