Diferent effects using the same material
using the same material, just modifying some parameters through the textures, it can be achieved a lot of effects.

Wow that looks great. If now the shadows would have been antialised i would say super amazing...now its just amazing
We're programmers. Programmers are, in their hearts, architects, and the first thing they want to do when they get to a site is to bulldoze the place flat and build something grand. We're not excited by renovation:tinkering,improving,planting flower beds.

Agreed with Sudi.
Btw, you should set JPEG quality better, these JPEG glitches are reducing "amazingness" of your work.

Or use PNG format.
Anyways the HDR looks really nice (and the model too).

Mel, you should borrow GPU Pro 2 from the nearest library; the mipmapped soft shadows method there is quite fast and would improve that pic nicely.

Alien Landscape
This is screen shot from the lasted build of my procedural planet generator
every corner of that planet can be explored and you can even travel seamlesly to any other body in the solar system and explore them as well
for those interested there is some more eye candy on my blog and much more detail about the project.

I'd add detail textures to the ground.

Great entries so far, I thought nobody else would enter after Mel posted his epic screenshot first
@Mel
what method are you using for the reflections? dual paraboloids IIRC?
