Hello,
I am totaly new to the irrlicht engine but I have some problems whit maps and I thought that some one might have a anwser on this. recently I followed tutorials about light maps the Gmax VT's that where posted by afecelis but my map wont compile correct it has some things that are to complex isnt there a way to get more complex things in a bsp?
I have tryed a other format (3ds) but everything looks kind of weird no real lighting i geuss is there a solution for this? to make a 3ds beter?
And a final question.... wich maps formats are supported by irrlicht engine.
Thx for reading.
Need some help!

about 3DS model:
* add your 3DS model using IAnimatedMesh & IAnimatedMeshSceneNode
* the use setMaterialFlag( video::EMF_LIGHTING, false ) on your IAnimatedMeshSceneNode. the second overload "false" allows the model to light itself. setting it to true allows it to be affected by dynamic lights.
get Panda Exporter and export your MAX scenes to .X file format, that is better than .3DS. import the .x file the same as i said above for the .3DS file.
search the forum for information about .X files. and go through the tutorials to learn about IAnimatedMesh and IAnimatedMeshSceneNode.
about bsp, i'm not sure to much on the bsp format im 3D Studio all the way, (except when i played Q3 Arena
), someone else help him out on that one.
and im not sure what you mean about maps? there are texture maps, level maps, etc. i will assume you mean a level.
so your ?: what formats can i use to load a level that i have made.
read the supported file format list:
http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/feature ... tedFormats
you could always make your own format.
.
PS. if you wanna make 3ds better, buy it!!!
