The entire SlashdotMedia had problems. It started on september 26th when suddenly the ssl certificate was reported as expired. I doubt Slashdot Media just let the certificate expire without realizing it it ; it was probably a server (or servers) that crashed and burned. After that, there was a few days of down-time during which only the main page was working. They reported a while back that they were up, but as I understand it, there was still a lot of smaller problems to hammer out.

Yeah, was a SF problem last week. And then some problems caused by that (like in this case open sessions in DB not getting closed for some reason).

I just noticed automatic log-in still doesn't work. Also earlier on we got errors when trying to access the database, so not 100% up yet it seems.

I noticed the forum unresponsive for quite a long time by now, i'm glad to see it back
