I get no "Topic reply notification" mails anymore

Post by jox »

Is anyone getting notification mail when a post is made in a "watched" topic?

I'va always received them. But suddenly not anymore.. Is this feature turned off?

I have a valid email address in my profile and the option "Always notify me of replies" is turned on.

:(

I'm guessing that SF may have changed it's internal sendmail settings as the forum is set to use it and our settings haven't changed.

It may take a while to dig through SF's site to find the message about those changes.
Crud, how do I do this again?

Yep, it's a SF problem.

It looks like they had issues with outbound email late January and may be having it again. They haven't updated the server status page since 3/2.

I tried sending myself an email through the sf user page and am getting nothing. I've sent a message to the SF maintainers, also, but if it's through email, who knows when they'll get it.

Thanks saigumi! I have often experienced problems with the notification mails. Every now and then one just didn't arive. Most of the time they did though. But now not one single one. I think the last one that I received was in december 2004... Maye the sf mail system got abused and they turned it of. Or it's so extremely overloaded that it just went tilt...

Afecelis you think that's good news? :o I like tamales! Gonna absorb some anyway. :)

 I meant the fact that they already know it's an SF issue and it's being notified :D

the bad news is if they don't give a damn to fix it.

lol

hey, afe...

I replied u long ago...

3 options :

a) actually there was not a need of a follow-up (most probably)

b) you don't know that in firefox when it puts a yello bar at the top it's due to it has blocked a pop up, and clicking "click here for options" there, will give several options, and clicking there "allow irrlicht forums this pop up" would solve it and the pop up would appear whenever new pm arrived...

c) Most probable of all... : You have an offset in ur screen monitor...of like....500 pixels that get permanently eaten at the top(huh, what are dose wierd buttons there at plastic border...??)...u dont see even the back/forward, home browser buttons...neither MyPc icon... that gives sense to ur sentence..."I have a feel I'm watching just half of the internet" ....

LOL.

Sorry, I got up with good sense of humor today (no good. Bad jokes will start to pop up here and there....)
Finally making games again!

already got it to work Vermeer!!! :D

it was firefox popup blocker!!! although I had to chase that lil' button on my other desk!!! hehehe, kidding, it was there all the time, but I usually assume any popup blocked is a popup that deserves to be blocked!!!

Jox's issue has to do with getting a notification email in your box whenever someone replies.... but saigumi already posted SF's answer.

they're working on it... :P
