Excuse my ignorance, but the last I checked there wasn't a way (in Irrlicht) to render-to-texture. How did you do it?

a question: why does it take so long to integrate render-to-texture into the engine? because i ve seen a document about how to do render-to-texture with opengl and it was not really much code (but maybe im wrong, i only had a quick look at it)

I hacked the code for render to textur ein for the Video driver :)

it is pretty crude though....

I think it's taking so long is because its very different on OpenGL compared to DirectX and all the platforms. I think it only gets included when it works the same on all renderers and all devices.

If you know you are only going to use OpenGL in windoze go ahead and hack it yourself 8)

a simple fix is to add a createRenderableTexture() and setRenderTarget(ITexture) to IVideoDriver

if the param to setRenderTarget() is null then it renders to the screen...

it is actually easier in directx than opengl IMHO

mohaps, plz, put your hacked code, a link, or a example, but put it, because "render in a texture" is in development too in irrlicht, you can be able to do the work quicker
