missing files for irrlicht 10.0

Post by Guest »

I'm trying to set up devCpp using the devcpp tutorial but i cant find 3 files.
libIrrlicht.a -- the Irrlicht library
libjpeg.a -- the Independant JPEG group library
libz.a -- the zlib compression library

i did a search for them also , no show.

any idea where the ywould be?

Also I dont have a irrlicht/bin/devcpp folder like it shows me to find them in

You probably should use irrlicht\lib\Win32-gcc\libIrrlicht.a, and you don't need libjpeg.a and libz.a anymore.

so that file is all i need? even tho the tutorial says all 3 files are needed ?

I still get this in my compile log :

Compiler: Default compiler
Building Makefile: "C:\Dev-Cpp\Makefile.win"
Executing make...
make.exe -f "C:\Dev-Cpp\Makefile.win" all
g++.exe -c irrdemo.cpp -o irrdemo.o -I"C:/Dev-Cpp/lib/gcc/mingw32/3.4.2/include" -I"C:/Dev-Cpp/include/c++/3.4.2/backward" -I"C:/Dev-Cpp/include/c++/3.4.2/mingw32" -I"C:/Dev-Cpp/include/c++/3.4.2" -I"C:/Dev-Cpp/include" -I"C:/Irrlicht/include" -I"C:/Irrlicht/include"

g++.exe irrdemo.o -o "irrdemo.exe" -L"C:/Dev-Cpp/lib" -L"C:/Irrlicht/lib" -L"C:/Irrlicht/include" ../Irrlicht/lib/Win32-VisualStudio/Irrlicht.lib

irrdemo.o(.text+0x84):irrdemo.cpp: undefined reference to `_imp___ZN3irr12createDeviceENS_5video13E_DRIVER_TYPEERKNS_4core11dimension2dIiEEjbbbPNS_14IEventReceiverEPKw'

this is my code for hello world tutorial :

// HelloUniverse.cpp
// Include the Irrlicht header
#include "irrlicht.h"

// Irrlicht Namespaces
using namespace irr;
using namespace core;
using namespace scene;
using namespace video;
using namespace io;
using namespace gui;

int main()
{
IrrlichtDevice *irrDevice = createDevice(EDT_SOFTWARE,
dimension2d<s32>(512, 384),
16,
false,
false,
0);

irrDevice->setWindowCaption(L"Dev-C++ and the Irrlicht Engine!");

IVideoDriver* irrDriver = irrDevice->getVideoDriver();
ISceneManager* irrSceneMgr = irrDevice->getSceneManager();
IGUIEnvironment* irrGUIEnv = irrDevice->getGUIEnvironment();

irrGUIEnv->addStaticText( L"Hello World! This is the Irrlicht software engine!",
rect<int>(10,10,200,30), true, true, 0, -1);

while(irrDevice->run())
{
irrDriver->beginScene(true, true, SColor(0,192,192,192));

irrSceneMgr->drawAll();
irrGUIEnv->drawAll();

irrDriver->endScene();
}

irrDevice->drop();

return(0);
}
