Marino Sounds - Introduction - We need your help

Post by Manuel Marino »

Hello, I introduce myself.

I'm the Managing Director of Marino Sounds, an italian recording
studio. We focus mainly on soundtracks, games and movies.

I work close to directors Tony Teulan and Jaime Abregana.

I've got some news, proposals and issues about my studio that I
would like to talk about with you. I'll talk about many issues and
I'll use asterisks and titles before talking about each issue.

*** Marino Sounds and Videogames Indies ***

Our studio gateway is http://www.marinosounds.com

Can you help us to reach indies audience? I would like to offer our
studio services to small teams and indies and make impressive
discounts to help the videogame industry.

I invite you to listen to a brief sample of our work to give you an
idea of what we're capable of. It's in MP3 format and is less than
two minutes in length, because I know your time is valuable! You can
listen to it here:

http://www.marinosounds.com/portfolio/M ... Reel_1.mp3

Since we are in the same industry, I'm sure you know indies
developers or programmers friends. If you can talk about us with
them... well... it would help us a lot!

Marino Sounds manages a skilled team of over 50 musicians and sound
designers that have provided high quality music and sound effects
for the multimedia industry for over three years. Our most recent
triumph is an all-new localized Italian soundtrack Marino Sounds
created for Bethesda Softworks' smash hit The Elder Scrolls III:
Morrowind for its Italian release.

Our team of musicians is skilled in music from all genres.
Additionally, we offer digital sound effects creation and recording.
Marino Sounds is a terrific choice for audio because not only are we
highly skilled musicians hailing from Italy, the birthplace of
music, our lower overhead means a lower cost to small developers
that often don't have all the money needed for the audio quality
their games deserve! You'll find that our rates are very
competitive, even with overseas studios.

Quality audio can really attract a wider audience. So.. here we are…
I'm waiting for your reply :)

*** Searching for Talented Artists ***

As stated in the news page, http://www.marinosounds.com/news.htm :

"Marino Sounds is searching for talented artists. If you are
interested in working with us, please send mp3 demos and resumes
(.doc or .pdf format) to our Artists & Repertoire Department. If you
are not an artist and would like to work in music & audio industry,
please send resumes (.doc or .pdf format) to Employment
Opportunities email."

What styles? you are thinking... well, we are searching for original
and creative ideas. Send us everything you think could be
interesting, we accept professionals and also amateur musicians, and
many "games guys" (like me and you!! heh) play an instrument or are
musicians... so, this could be your opportunity to enter in the
music industry.

I will not listen to everything, because I'm very busy with the
management, but if someone at the A&R Department will listen to
something really cool, you can be sure he will grab me and have our
Genelec speakers explode in front of me with the power of your
musical ideas :)

*** We have opened a NEW FORUM, you can PROMOTE you CDS ***

We have opened a new forum. Link is:

http://p2.forumforfree.com/marinosounds.html

We need people to spread the word and to moderate the forums. If you
are interested... also, if you have in mind new topics, we can add
them.

The forum is empty at the moment, so we need your help.

You can also PROMOTE YOUR CDS or YOUR MUSICIANS FRIENDS CDS in our
specific Promotion Forum. You can put links or reviews.

Thanks for reading this long post. I hope you will help us. Thanks
again.

Delete it, or just lock it.
(I'd suggest locking)
If it exists in the real world, it can be created in 3d

Sys specs:
AMD 3700+ 64 processor

e-Geforce 6600 graphics 256 mb onboard ram

From an email Manuel Marino sent me:
Hello Alvaro, I’m very sorry, i would like to publicly apologize or tell me if you can just explain my position in the thread.
The problem is that I’m trying to contact all the professionals I can in our industry, the videogames one.
So this is why the posts… if you have any suggestions… I don’t want to annoy anyone, but I’m the one in the team with the best computer skills and I don’t know any other ways to contact professionals, indies and so on…
I also agree that we must promote and help indies at every level, not only programming, but in different fields. Who knows, we might need a good recording studio someday, and I'm sure Mr. Marino will offer Irrlichters a good discount!!!, hehehehehe

If you have any ides to make the catalog more user friendly... the webmaster is studying how to optimize it... trying making a categories tree and so on... so... if you give me hints on the fly, I'll pass them to him in few seconds...
