Nice Engine, some questions about...

Post by AnX »

Hi all, I'm new to IrrLicht Engine (3 days using) and I really like this engine.
But now I've some questions, If any can help will be great!

First:
I'm using now GMax and 3D Studio Max R3 to do Modeling and Animation (with IK). I've exported my work to .3ds and loaded / UVW Mapped it into the engine and works great. But .3ds files don't store animation information and I can't export it from my Appz to engine. Are any using this apps and doing a good export to MD2 or MS3D for use in the Engine ?

Second (and stupid):
I'm thinking about Lights in my maps...
There's any way to export my lights (and it's parameters too) to any file recognized by Irrlicht ?

Now are this, sorry for my bad english, but I'm Brazilian...
See ya !

use milkshape for modeling. It's $25, but if you have 3d studio you can probably afford it

well, you're just about out of luck then. MS3d is milkshape's native format, and md2 editors are scarce... you could wait till 0.5, niko is putting in .x file support, for which there are 3ds exporters.
