Modifying Textures.

Post by Killingsworth »

I'm trying to write a Perlin Noise generator using irrlicht. I'm a little new to irrlicht (and 3d for that matter). and I wanted to know how to modify a texture from within the program. Basically I need to write the data from the perlin noise into the texture. I can figure out most of that, just not the part of actually getting a pixel into the texture data. Any help/source would be greatly appreciated. And ill return the favor by making a perlin noise scene node for those who need.

in the wiki (irrforge.org) is a class for displaying avi's in a texture. There's a lot of samples where the texture is locked, manipulated such as greyscaled. I'm not sure that's what you are looking for, but I think its an example of how to get at the individual pixels of a texture.
