Irrlicht's support for 3ds UVW files

Post by Devlar »

Hi
I've got a question. Does the Irrlicht engine support *.uvw files from 3DS MAX? Because i'm a beginner at C++ and at using engines so I would be a big help if there was a way to import those files.

Yes.
Use a UVW map modifier on your objects.

So if I understand correctly what you said. The engine will automaticly import the UVW settings of the model from the 3ds file ?

surely not referring to it. You can exchange UVW easily between models in max with certain tricks, no need to do by code.

i guess he meant models done with UWV uv mapping. Then yes of course, as any uvmapped model...

Only use I think of is...making static meshes very similar so you can later one load .uvs files so to exchange uv mapping info. That's better done by the artist, imho...
Finally making games again!
