Hello
What is a good vertice count for a human figure in a game? is 2000 too much?
How many vertiices can computers today take in general?????
I understand that irrlicht is a slower engine , how much slower is it?
thanks

Depending what you use it for, Irrlicht can be fast or slow.
Since Irrlicht uses 16 bit indicies, it can only handle around 65,000 verts (or polys? Can't remember...)
2000 verts is pretty good, but it's the poly count that really matters.

Several years ago this was a good benchmark. Nowadays its a real misnomer, poly counts really aren't an accurate way of measuring 3d engine performance. While their number does matter, it's the materals attached to them that makes the difference as to how long those polygons take to render. What is a good vertice count for a human figure in a game? is 2000 too much?

It's not that much slower, I think it's faster than most in general, but like any engine if you throw a lot at it, it can choke.I understand that irrlicht is a slower engine , how much slower is it?
