If you're tired of the forum - why keep visiting and complaining about it?

I would suggest to remain the guest account, because everybody can see if a posting is sent by member or guest;
why cut the easy possibility for neebies to say s.th, even if it was stupid?
I think it is up to the community to answer or ignore it ...

Nope, I see you flaming pretty much every "noob post" that hits the boards. One would expect that if you were really sick of it - you wouldn't bother reading them let alone flaming them.

i flame about 2-5 of 20 n00b posts, there are so much n00b posts i dont even have the time to flame them all.

yet today there are at least 10 or more new n00b threads which should all belong to /dev/null

what i do is my decision, who i flame is my decision, and that i will not post at this thread anymore is my decision too.

hope you can live with it :P

see you around!

No one is denying that "flaming" is your decision. I was just trying to fit your claim of "being tired of the forums" with the fact that you atually spend time and effort flaming them *shrug*

As for "ten or more new noob threads" - dude there are less than then threads IN TOTAL started today... So you're way off-base there.

EK, Gfx, Guys.... this sort of discussions also contribute loosing the north of the topic itself. I think everyone's already aware of the noob thing but remember it's always a matter of choosing whether to help out or not, or nag and scold newbies or not. It's a completely different story if reading newbie posts touches your most inner, dark and obscure feelings and makes you cripple on the floor in anger.

Please let's try to help others sincerely, just not by making them feel bad. And please if you don't agree with someone's opinion then don't start a battle here. It will only make the forum sink and totally loose its objective.

regards,

afecelis

No Hunt! the problem is not your questions; it's the lack of patience of some of us with them! On behalf of everyone in the irrlicht community, I apologize and I encourage you and other newcomers to use the forums, search in them, explore. In the end, there will always be someone with a similar experience to share.

ps. I also encourage you to register as a member.

afecelis is a great admin (seriously), very broad minded and pacifying.

Also on the subject a little, to no-one in particular - remember not all guest posts are "noobs". I think Niko SHOULD turn off guest accounts because the Signal to Noise ratio would improve greatly. I also think that gfx should have his account banned for his own sake, he is obsessed with correcting everyone instead of getting on with his own stuff and ignoring it.

happy coding irrlichters!

I second that. Afecelis is pretty good at making sure people (including me!) don't get out of hand.

And "hunt", I really encourage you to clarify your question and ask again. There are those of us that do want to help but need to know what you are after. I, for one, am not adverse to giving you a hand so long as I know the question!

@Gfx: I think you're starting to cross the line. You're getting on everyone's nerves. There's no reason for such an attitude. I consider it a total loss of respect towards posters and members.

please check the PM I sent you.
