Are there any royalty free formats out there?
For example if I use bsp, md2, md3, .x can I keep them in a commercial game without paying anyone..?
Perhaps making an "official" list would be nice (if there isn't already one)
Thanks

Right, It all depends on the tool you use. So try using DeleD or Wings3d or something like that.

Why would you want to pay anything when there is so much out there that is totally free with 100% licensing stating that you can use it anywhere u want for any type of game. Those including commercial and non commercial games. Depending on what ur making, i get all my model needs from the polycount website, and there are tons out there. search them with google and they seem to be all good, including their graphics.
BUT THEN AGAIN U MIGHT HOPING TO MAKE A VERY DECENT GAME. ONLY THEN WOULD I SUGGEST YOU TO BUY SOMETHING
