I was wondering, whether the Irrlicht development team is going to merge NX and Spintz Irrlicht with the trunk. NX is dead and imho it would be a waste of time to write code that has already been implemented in NX. Same for Spintz.
I need some feature from Spintz Irrlicht, which is based on Irrlicht 0.12, but I want to use the latetest version if Irrlicht as well. So ...
why not work together?
What about Irrlicht NX and IrrSpintz ?

You also have the option of patching Irrlicht via Hybrid's site

Spintz will change to STL data structures, Niko won't. So no chance to get a common version. But maybe Niko will set up some conditions for patch submissions such that they are more easily incorporated. Maybe a group of 5 people which can vote for inclusion after a patch has been tested with all examples from the distribution or something like this. But until then we'll have to use the existing way of patching every new release on our own.
