Problem with rendering level mesh [SOLVED]

Post by mauzi the Dude »

hi,

i've setup a little app which should render a X mesh file as a level. i'm using the standart addCameraSceneNodeFPS() but it seems there is something going wrong.
the mesh seems to alright in the DirectX viewer, but isn't rendered properly in my app.
ex.
Image
Image

Code: Select all

	iMesh = mgr->getScene()->getMesh("media/mesh/main.x");
	iNode = mgr->getScene()->addMeshSceneNode(iMesh->getMesh(0));//addOctTreeSceneNode(iMesh);//
	ICameraSceneNode* cam = mgr->getScene()->addCameraSceneNodeFPS();
any hints or tipps would be nice.

thnx mauzi

Try loading materials seperatly with getTexture(), or setting material type (i.e. EMT_SOLID or whatever)

But there seems to be something wrong with the vertices, too. At least if the first one's the correct one. Anyway, .x is not really good for static meshes, better use .obj or .3ds along with the patches. Should work much better with special materials etc.
