Newton Forums Reading, Posting, anything - requires ..

Post by Mikenoworth »

Even to just READ the newton forums requires registrration, no problem, I registered. Oh wait, now I have to wait for an activation email. Hm, ok I'll wait.. One day, nothing, two days nothing..

How long do I have to wait to get community support for this bastard library? VENT:: PROCESS_BEGIN()

I'm pissed. So I'm here, telling the Irrlicht forums I'm pissed. Not only does the manual & tuts not cover certain subjects I'm having troubles with, but I still haven't fallen upon the issue in the Irrlicht forums through searches. Okay, so I jumped some hoops and converted half my code to linear, to make newton happy. I even removed a few classes because class function member pointers are different than regular function pointers, and therefore totally screw up the callback. (and btw microsucks, why not provide a way around that class data in the pointer?) I've looked for answers for 4 days. I am patient, but the loops to get newton working are numerous and stink like three week old tuna sandwiches. I'm at the stage where I'm about the rewrite the code, again.

All because the jerks at newton want a stinking activation email reply, but I've got no activation email to reply to. SEND ME THE DAMNED EMAIL.

Not all answers lie await in a grassy open field with a halo around them.

But newton definitly needs a grassy open field with a halo around it answer.

VENT::END_PROCESS()

BTW, I'm not asking for help, just venting my frustration.

Strange, check your bulk folder. Maybe your e-mail treats your activation e-mail like spam.
I was received newton activation mail immediately /less then 1 minute/.

Well now it's Logan, but..

Holy crap, slc?? Ever go to Pilgrimage demno party?

Oh, and yeah, I sifted through a couple hundred bulk emails.

I'm gonna try and re-register and see what happens.

Ah, you should check it out! It's held once a year, usually cheap as hell, and since your in SLC, if you volunteer you can get in for free. (Rich is cool like that, and he needs all the help he can get.) Let me point you to the partys page.. http://pilgrimage.scene.org/

With Irrlicht, I also hope to make some killer demos (without having to deal with collision at all). But ya, seriously look into it, call Rich, join the mailing list, drink Richs beer.

And now for some resolve!

I activated your account; I do not know why you did not get the
activation
email. It is automatic process, you may have a Spam filter that
interpreted teh email as Spam. Some people had had similar problems.

anyway your account is activated.

Thanks

The point is I couldn't do anything about it at that point, maybe it was filtered and bulked and I deleted it, or maybe it was never sent, the good thing is I'm finally in the forums.

I know you're just being funny, but you do know about the demo scene dont you? And that demo parties are also known as demo competitions? Where sceners show off their (3d/digital art/music/video) projects and compete for prizes?? Yeah, I thought you knew that. I was just making sure... :?
