Currently it works only under Linux. Well, I successfully compiled it using MinGW under Windows, but Irrlicht.dll seems to be broken for win32-gcc (irr1.1).
I did:
runtime resolution change (irr dev recreation);
very awful rag doll;
shooting with a box;
commented the code (heh).
It may help a newbie, I hope
I made a little game for my studies called "Chapaev". It's a draughts game on a chess board.
It's better for learning purposes, than the previous ones because of cleaner code.
ADDITIONAL:
LINUX: Make sure symlinks within chapaev/data/maps/ and chapaev/data/textures/ point to existing files (wall.bmp, wall.jpg, water.jpg).
WINDOWS: Copy the following files: wall.bmp, wall.jpg, water.jpg into chapaev/data/maps и chapaev/data/textures directories. These files are found within Irrlichts's media directory.
