phpBB spam problem

Afecelis and Niko,

The spambots have discovered your forum. I had a phpBB forum in the past and this also happened to me. It was very annoying.

You have to increase registration security to maximum or the spam will continue and increase, even with guest posting disabled. The spambots make fake registrations that the Captcha security module (visual code confirmation) can't block.

I don't remember other security measures you can implement, but I'm sure you can find some mod in phpBB home page to prevent this.

I recommend the following mod:

This is a replacement for the old captcha and works very well. No OCR software can recognize the chars at the moment as you can use some different settings...

I use this mod in my forum and there is no bot registration anymore.

By the way, thanks a lot for those wonderful Blender tutorials

. I hope you have plans to post a new one about lightmapping with FSRad. I'm getting crazy with this stuff

I'd strongly recommend to install that mod above. Or you just change to a better solution than phpBB.
