Hi,
Anyone like to share, fully patched irllicht 1.1 engine, and compiled dll ??
Every forum I read about issues and bugs, suggests upgrading this and that, or 32bit patches.
I like what this engine offers, but would rather work on game design, than redesigning the engine.
I would go for irrSpintz, but dont have visual studio 2005, to compile it.
And struggled a little, on building a fresh project in VS 2003, to compile the source.
So if anyone could offer either a fully patched irrlicht 1.1, or visual studio 2003 project files for irrSpintz engine and examples, would be awsome !
Regards

The public API does not really change that much. So simply develop your game and check if bugs you encounter (in later stages of the development probably) are conceptual problems in your design or plain Irrlicht bugs which are already fixed. For the latter ones you can just wait until your app is o be deployed. It's quite likely that the most recent version of Irrlicht will contain a bug fix already. And if not it's not that much work to add a handful of patches on your own at that time.

Sorry, don't have the time or the space to download and install another compiler.
Not even sure 2005 Express would be to happy about another existing install.
Next, I like the engine, but why waste time down the line fixing bugs and issues, and modifying a platform to incorporate changes for another engine, when I can do it now ?
If anyone could please share the project files for irrSpintz, for Visual Studio 2003, would be great !!
Or a fully patched (source) and compiled (DLL) of irrlicht 1.1, thanks

Irr 1.2 is your best option.
Go with 1.2.
Right, so you haven't started yet. Even better reason to use Irr 1.2.I like what this engine offers, but would rather work on game design, than redesigning the engine.
You haven't started, so this doesn't make sense. You don't know yet...Better the devil you know!
Go with 1.2.

Hi,
No I have started and also using the irrWizard Framework.
I just see the point in going to 1.2, just to encounter more bugs and problems.
I meant just the better the devil you know, in that most of irrlicht 1.1 bugs are known. Even if they are not all fixed.
I do like what it offers, although the claims of it handling terrain are rather stretched I think.
It's just some people like myself, either cannot or do not want to recompile an engine, patch it, or hack it.
irrSpintz would be my answer, but alas it comes uncompiled, and with no project files for Visual 2003.
Again myself and others, do not have the time, space, or energy to install another version of visual 2005 (yes I know Express is free) just to compile irrSpintz.
And from previous experience, Visual product are not to happy about having multiple versions installed.
You would have to uninstall my full working 2003 product, just to install a lame 2005 cheapo version.
Anyway, if anyone can still help with a patched version of irrlicht 1.1, or a compiled version of irrSpintz would be awsome.
Or even the visual 2003 project files, to compile irrSpintz.
I am sure this would help MANY people, and everyone would be very greatful

most of the changes from 1.1 to 1.2 have been bugfixes anyway. the more people using 1.2, the more bugs will be found and the better the engine will become. providing a patched up 1.1 would mean less people will use 1.2, so I'm not gonna help, sorry.
regarding irrSpintz, did you even try making your own project file? if you have no idea of how to, you could try starting from an Irrlicht project file, deleting everything out of it then dropping the new code in. if you really really need a project file, consider buying Spintz a copy of vc2003, I'm sure he'd appriciate it!
