Buying? Not unless you really like it, but it would be worth renting. It's set five years after Superman II, while ignoring Superman III/IV, so in this version of the Superman continuity, there was no battle with Nuclear Man  . It's pretty good, although it's a little slow at some spots, and the logic gaps in the plot are somewhat obvious at times. Also, they say that the DVD conversion wasn't too great (clearly visible noise/colour bleeding/etc.), but it's supposed to be only noticeable on hi-def/big screen TVs. The story is that after the battle with Zod (in 1981), Superman went into space to see if Krypton was really destroyed. It was, of course, so he came back. It took him five years to make the round trip, so now it's 2006 (Hey! Wait a minute!), and a lot has changed. Lex Luther is planning to destroy the world, and Lois needs to be rescued... OK, so not much has changed. It's still a decent story, although it could have had more comedic elements in it; it's WAY too dark for a Superman movie.

I don't think Irrlicht can render huge terrains yet. Although I haven't tried, so I'm probably wrong.

An irrlicht-based contest of some sort would be a good idea.
