to tell everyone not to waste there time because it being sold to people unaware that its unfinished, and that it has pretty much came to a dead end. people cant even look at the support forum because they've been deleting all threads that have complaints about lack of updates(essential ones, like for animation etc) for almost a year.

The thread is in other than Irrlicht, so it is possible it could be spam.

it doesn't have to come from a spambot to be spam.
it's a mass message, it has nothing to do with irrlicht, it's not posted by a member of the community, it has its own motive.
it isn't meant to help us, it's supposed to hurt BV. even if it was meant to help us it would still be spam.

I am spamming...right now... but somehow this post is less spam then his one :P

Let me ask you, if he only posted in Irrlicht forums, and not in OGRE and everywhere else, would you still consider it spam?

depends.
does the guy use irrlicht and post here on the forums, or is he just some random stranger trying to use the community for his own purposes?

a complaint against another piece of software or group of people can only be weighed against the claimant's reputation, and this guy doesn't have one. so it's worthless spam at best, corporate espionage at worst. either way it's bad form.

Most of us might see it a little differently as well. It's funny though how Irrlicht is what wee should stick with. C4 is what they should stick with, and Ogre the same. The posts pretty much say the exact same thing, like copy and paste, or a bot, which has been stated it wasn't by lostclimategames. I believe it isn't a bot, but I don't understand the motives. But if this guy lost a lot of money on an engine that is unfinished, than i can understand the anger. I think there are better ways to fight it though.

In the end the admins get to decide whether this, and other supposed 'spam' threads are spam are not. There isn't really a reason to discuss it. If you really think it is spam you shouldn't keep bumping the thread.

same goes to you, dances, and me, and whoever calls me a hypocrite for bumping the thread again. in my defense, however, it *was* already at the top.
