I'll believe it when I see it. So when I die, I'll let you know what I believe in.

I thought I was doing good practicing my beliefs in religion until I saw this....

the funny thing is that communing to a humanly symbolic structure by misunderstood word from ancient text written in cryptic lyrics for concepts that where translated by a bias englishmen centuries ago that where made up to begin with.

does not constitute going to church either.

bottom line even if god existed go to church is the biggest folly religion has ever created.

church is used as a symbol for keeping the idea of god fresh in your mind and sharing the concept with others. come together and rejoice in my name means to have faith and nothing more.

on thing i want to say although im just quoting my english teacher who is atheist...

the purpose of religion to make people see a sense in life and therefore remove there confusion about the world and make them happy.

SO it is not important if god exist. beliving in it is the thing that affects your life.

last post in this crappy thread btw :P

greets,
Halan

edit: AH AH AH

there are some religious programmers, there are religious people in all fields. there are many scientists like my wife who have no problem having both faith in god, and science. i am a programmer, and some sort of christian, but i have a lot of liberal ideas about society anyway.
i think in the USA, midnight might be right, there are many more atheists among programmers and IT people than other fields i think. i'm not sure why.
as for the thread topic, no, most muslims are not terrorists. the vast majority are not. a few are. i think those few must make the rest very ashamed, that they abuse their ideals that way. there are christians who kill abortion doctors, and there were crusades, and i know i'm ashamed of that. i wish they didnt happen, but they did. all people are imperfect and do cruel or stupid things sometimes, and it's a shame, but it's true.
the best we can do is try to learn, and do better, and try to get along with each other.

I do not know which is worse, the damn commercial spamming or Spints brainless macho-spamming. Wait, i do know, the commercial spamming is a lot more welcome that Spints spamming.

Actually, some of Osamas speeches contain brilliant parts. He's just ruining everything when he brings up jihad, infidels and holy wars etc.. Same for Sadam.

Of course, i haven't analyzed every speech any of them has ever written, i've just noticed these things when watching and listening to media.

they both are great men (Sadam was) and they did great things (even if they are bad) but if it hurts us we have a right to blame on them. i heard that Bin Laden is making nuclear weapon and Iran might be involved in that. If it is realy true... Well, there is a possibility that all of us will have a chance to play "Fallout" in our yards

My theory is that they knew Bush would try to finish his dad's work so they attempted to slow him down.

al-Qaeda attacked the USA because 'the Christian West' is 'the far enemy', al-Qaeda were opposed to the gulf war in 1991 and America stationing troops in Saudi Arabia.
I guess it's mostly a politics thing, people battling for power, resources, money and land. The whole religious angle is down to propaganda, an effective weapon used by everyone during wartime.
Don't try to understand it, nothing is ever clean-cut. Just know that they're the enemy and remember to scream at the telescreen during Two Minutes Hate like everyone else, or the Ministry of Love might want to have a few words with you.

Islam religion is far from propaganda. You might know that in arabic countries religion was deeply integrated in whole country magnament and so on. I think that they are too religious to use their belief for such purpose. In fact they dont need to, everything happens naturaly as you see. Remember Mahomed's caricatures. Only deelpy religious people would react like this. Check out internet for drawings about Christ. I have lots of metal songs and even albums named like "Rotting Christ", "Jeasus is a freak" and so on. Noone cares. It means that we dont care about our religion. In my country happened very odd things about religion. One priest ran something like drugs dealing bussines, several others were caught breaking celibacy. While such things happen how you would use religion as propaganda? In countries like mine most ppl dont care, in countries like Iraq you have just overdo whole thing and it would cause many bad things.

I didn't say anything about Islam being propaganda. Religion is a good angle for inciting the ignorant masses for whatever reason, it always has been.
There was nothing natural about the reaction to the Mohamed cartoons, a bunch of hate-mongering imams stirred it up for their own reasons, they even added 3 much more offensive images to help stir it up. I would guess that they are quite famous and well respected in the Islamic world now.
