.3ds displaying problem

When Load a box that has a Noise modifier,
roughness=0.0
irration=3.0
/fractal
x=5
y=5
z=15

it is smooth in 3ds max but when i load it in irrlicht it is not smooth and all pointy. I tried to export it in several different formats but nothing works it is always pointy.

can you add a screenshot? I do not know exactly what you mean with "pointy", but I would guess the reason for solid shading instead of smooth shading is missing support of smoothing groups from 3ds loaded models.

Last I checked, boxes were pointy. A lot of the modifiers and special FX you can do in 3ds max won't work in Irrlicht because it doesn't know how to do them.

try collapsing your modifier list into an editable mesh or poly, that way it won't be a max modifier it will actually be a noisy mesh.
