3DS animations

Post by Melssj5 »

Hi, does the Irrlicht.NET suport 3DS animations, I am having a lot of problems using x files, And in other post I saw that 3DS files also have animation, but when I load one it didnt move. I have set the animation speed fomr 10 to 18000 and nothing.

neither Irrlicht nor 3ds support animations.

3ds is a static object format.

You might be thinking of rigging a 3ds file or animating it thru its vertices; but then you'll have to export to a format that supports animations... like md2 or X.

3ds is not a static format. It has full support for animation. But it is an old format, which was there in the DOS 3d studio. When MAX came , 3ds was also there as an export option.
But Irrlicht doesn't support animation of 3ds files. Infact there are only very few instances of code where we get information on 3ds animation in c++.
