thank you and good bye...

I had been interested in game design for a couple of years now, mostly learning taking in as much as i can about irrlicht and c++. but then I found blender. and now I realized that my new goal is too learn all I can about 3d animation and etc...

Thanks for leading me to blender, and have fun progressing and moving irrlicht to be one of the best opensource game engines around.

later.

and blender shall lead you back to Irrlicht again!!

have fun learning blender. It's an astounding piece of software. :D

Last night I was editing some videos at a friend's studio and I had the brilliant idea of showing blender to him and led him to the link for mac; it was 7:30 pm; he downloaded it, installed it, ran it and.... it was video editing bye bye. At 2:00 am he was still showing me his first spaceships proudly; he also started making some weird noises while he orbited the ships in the 3d view, started yelling, extruded 200 times the same face.... I think it's like a virus! ...contagious...contagious

now I got no videos to turn in... :(
moral: never show blender to a potential 3d buff while working on a serious project

hehehe, worry not! these weren't perfect models but a deep 3d catharsis he released while I explained the basic modeling process to him

He was just "sculpting" shapes that crossed his mind, even making mistakes and using the wrong key shortcuts. In the end we had to decide what it looked like: a ship, a turbine, a flower... all very personal and I guess..postmodern :D

milkshape just doesn't compare to the capabilities of blender, in no way no shape and no form... sorry man, I was into milkshape, but blender, is just way to awesome!!!

I didnt mean milkshape was better than blender. That was the first 3d program I got to use though.

hehehe, I know what you mean Maize.

and I also know it's not the program itself; it's the power of creating something with "virtual playdough" what drives your brain crazy!

tho I'm a fan of both; milkshape and blender; blender is nowadays a fully fledged 3d application (modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, rendering, postproduction, game engine) whereas milkshape still remains as a very good low poly modeler and basic animator for many 3d engines. :D

ps. I just hope you never forget that feeling you get the first time you create something in a 3d app.
