I would have to say NullDevice. I mean, none of the others have near the speed as that renderer
On a more serious note, I prefer the Apfelbaum & OpenGL renderers. I'm working on a cross-platform set of tools and game engine. DirectX may get access to "bleeding edge" features quicker, but you sure as hell "bleed" when testing them across different cards
I stick with tried and true techniques that are supported on 90% of cards my users have. As such, when combined with my cross-platform requirements - DirectX is not really in the running

Firstly ban the bloody spammer, and secondly i like to work with dx9 firstly coz ma radeon 9250 works a lot better with dx than ogl and scnldy coz only dx8 and dx9 shaders are sprtd and opngl fragments are not! If you have an nvidia card or a new radeon card go with opengl and if u hav a lil old radeon card go wid dx!
I'm not sure there's a "best renderer" in irrlicht. Sure, there is a worst one (I find the software renderer awful, and its display is catastrophic - mostly because of the clipping issue but there are a lot of area when it don't work well either). The apfelbaum renderer is quite cool, despite some (very) small problems. I don't see the point of maintaining both a DX8 renderer and a DX9 renderer - DX9 can work with DX8-class hardware, and I'm not sure that DX7-class hardware is to be supported (and such support is the whole point of the DX8 driver if I understand everything correctly)). The OpenGL driver is also quite cool - and faster on my older nvidia hardware.

No offense intented but is your keyboard working correctly? There's a lot of missing letters in this text that makes it barely impossible to understand without spending time to decipher itRapchikProgrammer wrote:Firstly ban the bloody spammer, and secondly i like to work with dx9 firstly coz ma radeon 9250 works a lot better with dx than ogl and scnldy coz only dx8 and dx9 shaders are sprtd and opngl fragments are not!
