Terrain Tiling gaps!

Post by Zharramadar »

Hi ppl,

After fighting with the heightmaps, I finally managed to load a bunch of them into my screen.... Anyway, still I have some problems with the edges of the terrains.... they don't fit! (and I verified my heightmap many times, so they are correct)...

My heightmaps:

The seam problem:

I read that is a problem with each scenenode LOD, but I really don't know how to play with this.

What I must do in order to fix this? :)

The way i see it irrlicht constantly removes and adds polys to a terrain to optimize it. That might make your 2 terrains have breaks in the middle.

As for fixing it... i say just use 1 terrain, or instead of a terrain use a mesh that you can make with 3dmax or any other moddeling program. ;)

yes, the LOD can bring problems, set the maxLOD to 1 when creating the terrain...
But I think it's because of the terrain bug I solved in the "Bug Reports" forum !!!

Write some text on the textures and apply them to the terrain, you'll see... ;)

Yes my texts gets flipped, but I still cannot apply your changes to the source, they give me compile errors, as I posted in the other topic.

I'll try the maxLOD = 1 here, i don't know why but I can't get my bounding box width anymore, I'll try to fix this.

Any tips what I need to to in order to put your irrlicht extensions in my source?
