UV Unwrapping

Can anyone point me to a free UV Unwrapper? I need something to create a .bmp or .jpg (etc) from my model. Or if someone could point me to a UV Unwrapping tut in 3ds max that'd be good too. Not the official one though because so far I haven't seen a .bmp, jpg, etc. yielded from it.
